Space Holder FAQs

What is Artsandbuyers.com?
Artsandbuyers.com "rotates" art in locations in secure spaces throughout the MidSouth and installs professional quality display hardware in spaces you choose.

Why art? Why rotational art?
Used to, people would hammer a nail into the wall to "fill up" empty space with art. Today, organizations and businesses of all types are using walls spaces as an internal communicatons medium to influence customers and clients, reach employees, as well as an opportunity to show community presence.

What type of art do you hang?
Any art you see in our newsletter (below) or any that you ask us to find that you think would suit your environment. Just ask. There is a place for every type, so we place every type. You can identify specific works of art you would prefer hung in your spaces through our space holder newsletter.

What are "space holders?" These are decision makers in any space that might like to have art hung--from office buildings to churches.

What exactly are your services to space holders? 1) Installing hanging systems for any internal need of the space holder and 2) presenting options in art product to hang.

Is there a link between your two services, i.e. does one obligate me to use another? You can order any size hanging system without ordering nor being obligated to order, any art. The hanging system is structurally permanent and your's to use in any number of ways from installation on. Once the hanging system is installed, you qualify to hang art as long as the hanging system is rated to support it. To protect both your walls (below) and the art, we hang only on a high quality and secure system.

What about the newsletter?
We feel our newsletter Art2Hang is an art magazine in itself. Its like no other email you will get. Its freee, colorful, fun and functional. When we receive new art, we let you see it through these periodic email announcements. Finally, our email newsletter to space holders may go to any number of people within an organization as well as artists.

How can I get the newsletter?
For now, just send us an email requesting to be put on the mailing list. If we have spoken to you we've told you we would be putting you on the mailing list, but at some point we request you sign up formally.

How are costs determined?
Hanging art, or anything else an organization chooses to display, is determined by the size of the displayed items, their weight and the capacity of the hanging system used. The cost of a hanging system with installation starts at $150 for a six foot ceiling to floor unit designed for multiple frames and panels. We are glad to visit your space and give you a quote with options or you can send us pictures with the length of the space in which you want the system installed and we'll get back to you.

How is a hanging system better than hanging on the wall? Better to ask, how many ways is it better: First, a hanging system saves nail damage on walls by hanging from a vertical track with thin moveable cables or virtually invisible nylon cord onto which a frame or display can be securely hooked. (Same goes for rods for heavier pieces.) So when staff change offices there is no need to repair and repaint walls as new staff move in. A hanging system allows total flexibility in size and weight because frames can be freely moved vertically and horizontally. Further, you don't even need walls to hang anything; you can use open space that you want to visually divide. Finally, with a hanging system, there's such a thing as "footless easels" that eliminates the need for floor space when presenting. To sum up, you save on maintenance, have visible communications to staff, a unique artistic presence and unlimited changeable flexibility in how you display.

Is there a minimum order for a hanging system?
The smallest length is six foot and you can add systems whenever, such as seasonally or over holidays.

What is your commission rate?
10% on all transactions at that physical venue. This is a "contingency" fee, not an agent fee. (See contract below.)

What do you mean by "show your work"?
You expressly allow us to include, "without remuneration nor expectation thereof," images of your art in our emails to space holders and to show your art in advertising of ArtistsandBuyers.com in any media to other artists and space holders.
